Romanticizing Hugo Chavez
Leftists in the US are well-pleased with Barack Obama's approchement with Venezuelan leader Hugo Chavez. On the Progressive website, Daily Kos, FreeSociety (a username) explained that Hugo Chavez was fraudulently painted a dictator and a threat by oil corporations and 'banking elites'.
FreeSociety said that US corporate schemes raped Venezuela and hurt their people and that Hugo Chavez simply wasn't going to be a part of it. "[W]ith the control this Oil revenue, he has successfully created real economic hope and opportunity for the poor, and been elected by the people in eight straight elections," he said.
FreeSociety included a list of positives about Hugo Chavez explaining how Hugo Chavez is a hero:
Hugo Chavez never lied about "weapons of mass destruction".
Hugo Chavez never Invaded anybody.
Hugo Chavez never dropped Bombs on urban populations.
Hugo Chavez never used chemical weapons (The U.S. did).
Hugo Chavez never rounded up people into mass detention camps and Trortured them.
Hugo Chavez never killed millions of people.
Hugo Chavez never created a refugee problem by destroying a Country.
FreeSociety, like most Leftists, believe America and the Bush administration are to be blamed for the problems in Venezuela, saying that Bush and the CIA tried to overthrow and kill Chavez, sponsored uprisings, and tried to manipulate the elections to remove him from power.
"The reason why the Neocons and the American Media try to manufacture all this hate against him, is simply because Hugo Chavez won!", FreeSociety claimed.
The kindship between Fidel Castro and Hugo Chavez is strong, he claimed, because Chavez "defied the odds and defeated the crooked, corrupt U.S. Oil Companies and the Banking Oligarchs that want to control the World's resources for themselves" and "defeated the CIA attempts to overthrow him and kill him."
"Hugo Chavez is a hero and a good guy," FreeSociety said. It's the US, he believes, that are "violent barbarians" with a "mass-murdering Neocon Foreign Policy" and "bloody criminal CIA gestapo activities."
In FreeSociety's opinion, Venezuela's economy is improving towards greatness "for its masses of poor people."
In summary, in the words of FreeSociety, "Hugo is the hero here. American propaganda and the Oil-Military-CIA-Banking complex (which lost for once) is the real enemy of the people, and the enemy of our own liberty. Go Hugo!!! I love it when the murdering Oil-CIA thugs lose!"
